Sports Day

                                                           Sports Day

                                The teams for sports day are green , blue , yellow and red.           

                                There are activities that the teams have to do to win such as 

                                hurdles , earth ball , sprints , high jump and more to earn points 

                                to win.

                                On sports day we will be having a special lunch which is 

                                a sausage sizzle with water also there will be soft drinks

                               to buy at lunch.

                               

                               All of this will happen on the last day of school ( 12 - 4 - 13 ).

Harmony Day Assembly

On harmony day we had an assembly and room 20 was hosting.  They showed some of their posters about what Harmony day stands for and they also sang a song called We are one.  

Other students and adult joined in and teachers handed out some awards to students.  The teachers told as information about what is going to happen next and also about causal day week 10 on Thursday when you will have to bring a one dollar or two dollar coin.  The money goes to the children hospital. We also talked about harmony day and it was pretty fun all the students liked it. Everyone dressed in orange and there was a huge string of rings that every child in the school got to be a part of making.  It stretched all the way around the gym!

Paper Mache

When we did Paper Mache we needed to get newspaper, glue and balloons to make it. We had to do dip the newspaper in the glue and stick it on the balloon. Some of the balloons popped while we were putting the glue on the balloon.

Some people struggled with putting the wet newspaper on the balloon without it slipping off the balloon. When people finished they would help people by cutting up newspaper.

Some people did finish the paper mache.  Some people didn't finish the paper mache and got in trouble.  It was hard and messy when we did it.  Some people were almost  finished the work.

We had to do two layers of newspaper to put on the balloon. Everyone was messy with the glue. Miss Murray was very frustrated because people needed glue every second of the time that we were with Miss Murray in the art room.

I thought it was very fun, easy and messy all at the same time.  Miss Murray said the older you are the worse you are at it hahahaha.  We only had the one lesson to finish the paper mache.

Once it had finished and dryed off we can paint them to decorate.

Our Class Stars

Our class stars are used for getting free time on the computers on Friday. We earn stars by being good and licensing to the teacher. 

Our stars are good for getting our class to look forward for the end of the week. We think it is a good and creative idea for the class.

Harmony Day

Harmony Day is in Australia on the 21^st of March

The main colour for Harmony Day is Orange, also Harmony Day first started in 1999 in the United States. The message for Harmony Day is “Everybody Belongs”, also Harmony Day can be celebrated by culture stuff around the world like people speaking different languages.

On Harmony Day you can wear orange because it’s the colour of peace, also in different countries it is started a different day, like in one country it starts on the 18^th to the 24^th. The main food that is native to America is Strawberry Bread and in Germany Berlin they eat Potato dumplings, and the last country is Vietnam with Asian coleslaw.

Each and every Australian has a unique story, and also on Harmony Day every Australian respects each other, and this year on Harmony Day the theme will be sharing your cultural stories.

Alex

I'm a year five.

 I like video games and playing football with my brother.   

My favourite video game is rachet and clank. 

My favourite movie is mortal combat and playing mw3 with my step sister, she always beats me - I've only beaten her once and that was only because I got her from behind so really I can't blame her for being mad at me! 

I play black ops 2 with my brother and once we killed 24 zombies.

 I'm also half Italian, half Scottish and Irish and a little German.

 My nickname is sparky and my cats name is fuzzy - we call him Fuzzball but he's still a kitten and I love him very much. We also have a big dog called Rebel - he's a staffy!    We've had him since he was a puppy and he is 4 years old now!  I also have a cat called Nitro - we call him Nitrous.
